According to the My Wellness Scorecard National Study, 44% of U.S. adults are “WannabeWELLs,” or people who want to be healthier, but don’t necessarily know how. Smaller percentages of the population fell into two other groups, including “AlphaWELLs,” who actively engage in healthy habits (23%), and “OhWELLs,” those who simply don’t live healthy lifestyles (33%).

A list of the top ten college food trends for 2010 was recently compiled developed by Sodexo, a foodservice provider to 600 college campuses around United States. In consultation with students, chef’s and other public opinion groups, Sodexo predicts that the major food trends across college and university campuses across the country will include locally grown, and regional and global comfort foods. Sodexo also cites the growing popularity of vegetarian foods among students over the next year.

Instead, kids today are seeing more ads for healthier food choices, which could be great news for vegetarian food businesses.
